Matthew Pinsent meets Iraqi Olympic rowers Hussein Hamza and Nozad Haider with World Olympic Dreams

Multi-Olympic gold medallist Matthew Pinsent has travelled to Baghdad with ´óÏó´«Ã½'s World Olympic Dreams to meet Iraqi Olympic rowers Hussein Hamza and Nozad Haider. Footage will be available on the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s , with special programmes also available on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Breakfast; ´óÏó´«Ã½ News Channel; ´óÏó´«Ã½ World News; ´óÏó´«Ã½ World Service Radio; ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 5 Live and World News America.

Nozad Haider recently won a bronze medal for Iraq at the recent Asian Games, in the single sculls in Guangzhou, China. Both his and Hussein's wish is that this now acts as a platform for promoting sport participation in their country, something that has been difficult given the ongoing conflict still raging there.

Matthew will be speaking to the rowing pair about what it's been like to train on the Tigris in constant fear of attack from snipers and suicide bombers, their dreams of glory at London 2012 and their hopes for the future of their country.

The documentary will play out on the following programmes:

Friday 3 December – ´óÏó´«Ã½ Breakfast
Friday 3 December – ´óÏó´«Ã½ World News
Friday 3 December – ´óÏó´«Ã½ News Channel
Friday 3 December – ´óÏó´«Ã½ World Service Radio, World Today
Friday 3 December – Radio 5 Live, Gabby Logan Show
Friday 3 December – World News America

World Olympic Dreams, which launched on 27 July 2010, is following 26 individual stories featuring 46 athletes from around the world as they strive to turn their hopes for Olympic success at London 2012 into a reality.

The films that form the project have been collated through the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s worldwide reporting network, with correspondents in each of the countries featured providing the relevant footage.

Viewers are given a real insight into each of the athlete's unique stories and very different personal circumstances, while they all work towards the same goal of Olympic success - personal training regimes; coaches; diet; family; friends; their likes and dislikes; and the sacrifices they all have to make.

The programme is based on the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s , where two new films will be uploaded each month.

The site also contains features such as Q&As and blogs as well as the athletes personal social media sites, where users will be able to interact with the athletes.

´óÏó´«Ã½ Sport News reporter Matthew Pinsent fronts the series and will be bringing regular updates and reports on each of the 26 stories.
