Natalie Humphreys

Natalie Humphreys is joining the ´óÏó´«Ã½ as Head of Specialist Factual, Scotland, from Shine Television, with her move a key element of the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s strategy to increase television production from national centres.

Humphreys has an extensive track record in creating global content and leading the growth of successful factual businesses and is charged with expanding the existing multi-million pound specialist factual slate both on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ networks and with international co-producers. Humphreys's credits span award-winning science, history, documentary and natural history and highlights include History Cold Case, which was recently re-commissioned by ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two and commissioned for a US series by National Geographic, Wonderstuff (´óÏó´«Ã½), Wild At Heart (ITV), Bang Goes The Winter Weather (´óÏó´«Ã½), How Does That Work? (Discovery) and Bug Brother (National Geographic/France 5).

Andrea Miller, Head of Factual, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland said: "I am delighted that a programme maker of Natalie's reputation and experience, both in the UK and internationally, is joining our team. We've built up a very strong specialist factual unit in Scotland on ´óÏó´«Ã½ One and Two with shows like Food Factory, Men Of Rock and A History Af Scotland and it is exciting to take this next step with Natalie leading further expansion. Her appointment underscores the value the ´óÏó´«Ã½ place on the strategy to expand our production bases outside of London."

Chief Creative Officer Pat Younge said: "Natalie is one of the most creative, inventive and skilled factual programme makers and her arrival is a significant vote of confidence for in-house production. I expect her energy and drive to have a real impact on the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s specialist factual slate in Scotland, and I'm delighted she's joining the team."

Natalie Humphreys said: "It's about being genre-defining and I'm looking forward to working with some exceptional talent both on and off screen."

Humphreys joins the ´óÏó´«Ã½ working alongside colleagues in other parts of the UK, Andrew Cohen, Head of the Science Unit, London Factual, and Andrew Jackson, Head of NHU in Bristol.
