´óÏó´«Ã½ Three's 60seconds has announced a new presenting line-up as the channel celebrates 10 years of the innovative news bulletin this weekend. Sam Naz will take over as main presenter from Monday to Thursday while Claudia-Liza Armah joins the team to deliver the headlines at weekends.
The nightly bulletin reports every hour from 7pm, telling each story in just 10 seconds. Updates cover top stories from ´óÏó´«Ã½ News, the global news channels, sport and entertainment with weekly updates on environment and science and technology stories. It is produced by the same team as ´óÏó´«Ã½ One's 8pm news summary, introduced in 2007.
60seconds started out on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Choice on 16 July 2001 and then moved to ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three when the channel was launched in February 2003. Since then, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three has become the most watched digital channel for the hours it broadcasts, attracting on average 18 million viewers a week.
Zai Bennett, Controller ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three, said: "The 60seconds team have done an invaluable job of delivering all the big headlines over the past 10 years in short, snappy bulletins. They continue to be a fantastic source of news for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three's young audience, who are less likely to watch traditional news programmes. I'm delighted to be able to confirm Sam Naz and Claudia-Liza Armah as our new anchors on the team."
Sam said: "I'm really excited to be taking over as the main presenter of 60seconds on its 10th birthday! I'll be keeping everyone updated with all the day's top stories. The bulletins have gone from strength to strength over the past decade and I hope to build on that success."
Claudia said: "I've been an avid viewer of 60seconds since its launch in 2001 so it's very exciting to now be part of the team who bring the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three audience their news, entertainment and sports fix. My challenge now is to tell each story, in a way that will grab the audience, in just 10 seconds. I can't wait!"
Sam's career began at the ´óÏó´«Ã½ in 2003, when she won a place on the Student Sponsorship Scheme run by ´óÏó´«Ã½ News. Since joining as a trainee, she has worked on programmes including Newsround, Breakfast, Radio 5 Live and as an entertainment reporter for the ´óÏó´«Ã½ News channel between 2008 and 2010.
Sam has covered a number of major stories such as the July 7 terror attacks in London in 2005 and the UK General Election in 2010. She regularly writes for the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three website, carrying out interviews and providing insight into current issues.
Claudia joins 60seconds from ´óÏó´«Ã½ Look East, after working there for two years on its main news programme in Norwich. She began her presenting career in 2007, following a Masters degree in Broadcast Journalism, working in the Press Association's multimedia department working as news, entertainment and sports reporter. Claudia then moved on to front English news programmes for digital channel Vox Africa, covering international stories such as the 2008 US presidential election and the death of Michael Jackson.
