6 Music to broadcast from The Big Chill Festival

Craig Charles, Cerys Matthews, Norman Jay MBE, Mr Scruff and Jamie xx are to broadcast live for digital station ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 6 Music from The Big Chill Festival this August, bringing their own unique styles to the airwaves.

The three shows, Craig Charles Funk And Soul Show (Saturday 6 August, 7-10pm), Cerys On 6 (Sunday 7 August, 10am-12noon) and 6 Mix (Sunday 7 August, 8-10pm) will broadcast live from the festival site in Eastnor, Herefordshire. Each show will reflect the festival's music and guests.

Festival-goers will also have the chance to see some of the shows broadcast live on stage from the newly created Big Chill Radio stage.

On Saturday evening, Craig Charles, a veteran of The Big Chill, plays his usual mix of stomping funk and soul floor-fillers in a show that is sure to get the audience dancing. Craig also has a live performance from singer songwriter Andreya Triana.

Craig Charles is looking forward to playing at the festival: "You're going to hear big beats, bass lines, banging brass and booga' bloomin' loo'. We'll be laying some heat on The Big Chill – feisty funk and sexy soul blues ska and rock 'n' roll. We'll tear the roof right off The Big Chill so put your sunglasses on. No sleep till bedtime."

Sunday evening sees 6 Mix reflect The Big Chill's dance music heritage with a special live show featuring two DJ performances from Big Chill stalwarts Norman Jay and Mr Scruff, alongside an exclusive set from future superstar DJ Jamie xx.

6 Music listeners have the chance to go to the festival by entering the ticket giveaway. Full details plus terms and conditions can be found at . The ticket giveaway closes at 1pm on 25 July.
