In a Radio 5 Live Sport special, Pat Nevin investigates why British football has struggled to produce players of a similar creative calibre to the great international number 10s, such as Zidane, Baggio, Maradona and Messi.
On Tuesday 30 August, The Perfect 10 will examine why it has proved such a difficult task to find and nurture such players and why, on the rare occasions that a home-grown player does come along, their talent is stifled rather than encouraged to blossom?
Pat will be joined in the studio by John Barnes and hear from the director of Looking For Eric, the 2009 film about Eric Cantona, Ken Loach. Plus, there will be interviews with Sir Trevor Brooking and Argentinean great, Ossie Ardiles.
On the following evening, Wednesday 31 August, Robbie Savage, David Pleat, Andy Dunn and Ian Dennis present 5 Live Sport's transfer deadline special, guiding listeners through all the latest moves in the transfer market.
