Press Release

Michaela Strachan to join Autumnwatch Live

The Autumnwatch Live team are delighted to announce that Michaela Strachan will be joining the presenting team for Autumnwatch Live this year.

Michaela is one of TV's best loved and popular presenters. She has been presenting wildlife programmes since the early Nineties, including award-winning series such as The Really Wild Show, Orangutan Diary and Elephant Diary for the ´óÏó´«Ã½, and Michaela's Wild Challenge and Michaela's Zoo Babies for Channel Five. Michaela was also a regular presenter on Countryfile for several years, and the UK's wildlife and wild places continue to be a subject close to her heart.

Michaela will join Autumnwatch Live anchor presenters Chris Packham and Martin-Hughes-Games. Kate Humble announced at the end of the last series that she would not be returning for Autumnwatch Live in 2011.

Her experience, knowledge and enthusiasm will be a huge asset to the team, and it will also be an on-screen reunion with presenting partner Chris Packham, whom she has worked with many times over the years since their days on The Really Wild Show. The presenters will travel the country in search of the autumn's wildlife news, views and action in our most iconic wild places.

Michaela says: "I am really excited to be joining the Autumnwatch Live team, it's a great opportunity to take a close look at the UK's amazing wildlife across the season. It's always such a pleasure making programmes for an appreciative audience and I know that Autumnwatch has such loyal and enthusiastic viewers. I'm looking forward to working with Martin, and being reunited with Chris – he has such incredible knowledge and we've always had a great relationship."
