Great City Games and Great North Run 2011, live and exclusive on ´óÏó´«Ã½

The ´óÏó´«Ã½ brings live and exclusive coverage of the Great City Games and the Great North Run from Newcastle on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September, as some of the world's finest athletes compete on the city's streets.

On Saturday 17 September Jonathan Edwards presents live coverage of the Great City Games, 1-2.30pm on ´óÏó´«Ã½ One, where newly crowned World Champion Mo Farah will be running his first race since winning the 5000m Gold in Daegu.

Presenting alongside Jonathan will be Colin Jackson and former Decathlete Dean Macey, with commentary from Paul Dickenson, Brendan Foster and Steve Cram. The event sees Team GB & NI take on Team USA in men's 100m, 150m, 110m hurdles, two miles and long jump and women's 150m, 100m hurdles and mile. The top line-up also includes the USA's new world champions Carmelita Jeter (100m) and Dwight Phillips (long jump).

On Sunday 18 September Sue Barker presents the Great North Run, live on ´óÏó´«Ã½ One, 9.30am to 1.30pm. Some 54,000 runners will be taking part in this famous half marathon, with elite runners including Helen Clitheroe and Jo Pavey in the women's race and Emmanuel Mutai and Martin Lel in the mens. Paul Dickenson, Brendan Foster and Steve Cram are again on commentary duties, with reporters Phil Jones, Denise Lewis and Colin Jackson out on the course.

Jonathan Edwards will present the highlights from the run in the evening on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two at 5.20-6pm.

The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sport website will live stream both events and feature on-demand clips, plus reports, and there will also be coverage on The Great North Run on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Red Button, 9.30am-1.30pm.

´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 5 Live has live coverage of the Great North Run, 9.30am-12noon on Sunday 18 September. Tony Livesey presents with Mike Costello and Mark Clemmit. Anna Foster will also be reporting all the build up and early news into Weekend Breakfast (6-8.30am).

´óÏó´«Ã½ Newcastle will broadcast the start of the 31st Great North Run live before full match commentary of the Sunderland game that kicks of at 1pm.
