Warren Brown lands title role in new ´óÏó´«Ã½ One series Good Cop

Warren Brown (Luther, Occupation) has been confirmed to star in the lead role of Stephen Butchard's (Five Daughters, House Of Saddam), Good Cop, a new four-part drama series made by ´óÏó´«Ã½ Drama Production North.

Warren will play a young Liverpool response cop. When his best friend is murdered the impact of his brutal death throws his whole life and career into turmoil. He starts to question everything he believes in and the difference between right and wrong. He finds himself increasingly desirous for revenge and a different kind of justice.

Warren Brown says: "As soon as I read the script I knew I wanted to be part of this project. Good Cop is fantastically written and to be given the opportunity to play such a complex character is something every actor dreams of."

´óÏó´«Ã½'s Controller of Drama Commissioning, Ben Stephenson adds: "I'm thrilled to announce that we have cast Warren in his first lead role on primetime ´óÏó´«Ã½ One, following his success in hit series Luther. Warren will bring real energy to Stephen Butchard's highly charged Good Cop, playing a young beat cop who will take the audience on a thrilling joyride through urban Liverpool."

The cast list also includes: Stephen Graham (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Occupation); Michael Angelis (Boys From The Blackstuff, Auf Wiedersehen Pet); Aisling Loftus (Page 8, Five Daughters); Mark Womack (Murphy's Law, The Runaway); Kerrie Hayes (Room At The Top, Lilies); Christine Tremarco (Casualty).

Good Cop begins shooting in Liverpool this month and will air in 2012. The series will be directed by Sam Miller and produced by Rebecca Hodgson. The executive producer is Jessica Pope for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Drama Production. Good Cop was commissioned by Danny Cohen, Controller ´óÏó´«Ã½ One and Ben Stephenson, Controller, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Drama Commissioning and has received additional investment from the ´óÏó´«Ã½ North Creative Kicker Fund.
