Following Chris Evans's Breakfast show, Ken Bruce takes the helm from the studio. He celebrates the day with three hours of live coverage of the event interspersed with celebratory music. The show will be broadcasting the wedding service live from Westminster Abbey.
Vocal outfit Blake perform their specially written wedding song live in the studio; Rebecca Pike reports live from outside Westminster Abbey; Johnny Saunders reports live from outside Buckingham Palace; and a team of ´óÏó´«Ã½ correspondents report from various locations between the Abbey and the Palace covering the procession. Today's Afternoon On 3 celebrates the royal wedding with a live concert of royal music from Belfast's Ulster Hall. The Ulster Orchestra and conductor Barry Wordsworth are also joined by Irish soprano Ailish Tynan for music by Mozart and Haydn.
Afterwards there's music from neglected English composer York Bowen, who died 50 years ago, as well as from Saint-Saëns who called Bowen "the most remarkable of the young British composers."
