Singer-songwriter and former New York radio DJ Laura Cantrell joins Bob Harris in session to perform songs from her new album, Kitty Wells Dresses: Songs Of The Queen Of Country Music.

Famed in the UK as a favourite artist of the late John Peel, Laura has received huge critical acclaim for her albums Not the Tremblin' Kind, When The Roses Bloom Again and Humming By The Flowered Vine, and was described by The Independent as "arguably the most vital new country voice in decades".

Following a three-year break from recording, in which she concentrated on raising her daughter, she returned in 2008 with an EP called Trains And Boats And Planes, comprising covers of songs by Merle Haggard, Burt Bacharach and even New Order.
