Growing up in Los Angeles in the 1970s, Rick Ross didn’t intend on becoming a major drug dealer. He wanted .

I saw in tennis when I practised hard how my game improved. When I took to the drug business, I took that same mentality.

When that ambition failed to become a reality, Rick wasn’t really sure what to do with himself.

A friend introduced him to cocaine and Rick moved the focus from the tennis court and to selling drugs, and building a criminal business that made millions of dollars in profit.

Rick, who spent 13 years in prison, talked to Radio Scotland’s about his past crimes and his current attempts to stop young people repeating his mistakes.

Rick's own experiences are a small part of US drug war history, which, thanks to , is under examination once more.
