What is Scenes for Survival?

is a new season of digital short artworks, created in association with , Screen Scotland, 大象传媒 Arts’ Culture in Quarantine project and Scotland’s leading theatre venues and companies, with support from Hopscotch Films.

These shorts have been - and continue to be created - in response to the current Covid-19 outbreak.

When will Scenes for Survival be available to watch?

We’ll be launching with the first set of 6 pieces right here at on Wednesday 27 May at 9pm.

Who will be in the first Scenes for Survival pieces?

These initial are performed by Brian Cox, Kate Dickie, Moyo Akandé, Ashleigh More, Janey Godley, Jonathan Watson, and directed by Cora Bissett, Debbie Hannan, Cameron Mowat, Katherine Nesbitt, Louise Shephard, and Caitlin Skinner.

The first releases will include new short pieces from writers Jenni Fagan, Morna Pearson, Stef Smith, and Janey Godley, as well as a newly performed extract from recently celebrated Scottish play Fibres by Frances Poet.

How many Scenes for Survival pieces will there be?

There’ll be 40 pieces published at - and you can check back each week for three brand new pieces.
