Entry opens 13th November 2024
Two Minute Masterpiece encourages the next generation of filmmakers to push their creative boundaries and get their best ideas on the 大象传媒. This talent development initiative provides a platform to showcase the diversity, creativity and artistic vision of new and emerging filmmakers in Northern Ireland.
大象传媒 NI, in partnership with Northern Ireland Screen, is offering up to six filmmakers the opportunity to create their own two-minute film for publication on 大象传媒 iPlayer.
Series 10 Creative Brief - 大象传媒 Archive
To celebrate 100 years of 大象传媒 Northern Ireland, we’re inviting filmmakers, including all Two Minute Masterpiece alumni, to dive into the rich history of the portal. This year’s theme is all about reimagining, reinterpreting, and reshaping moments from the past to create new stories, fresh perspectives, and unexpected connections to the present.
Your challenge is to create a two-minute film inspired by, or featuring, archive material from . Whether it’s news footage, historic interviews, iconic cultural moments, or forgotten treasures, use the archive as a springboard for your creativity. We want to see films that explore the theme in bold, innovative ways - whether its juxtaposing old and new, uncovering untold stories, or sparking new conversations from the past.
We’re looking for submissions that push creative boundaries with a unique artistic vision. Show us the power of archive material to tell stories that resonate with today’s audiences and that showcase the diverse voices of Northern Ireland's emerging filmmaking talent.
Films can span any genre, from live-action and animation to avant-garde, documentary, or comedy.
We are especially interested in filmmakers from backgrounds that are underrepresented within the media industry, and ideas that explore a diverse range of viewpoints.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online pitching and mentorship session with industry professionals, then one week later will pitch their ideas to a commissioning panel.
Chosen filmmakers will attend training with an industry professional to develop a comprehensive production plan for their short film. They will then be paired with an industry mentor and given a production fund of £2000 towards realising their creative vision.
Your film has the potential to be shown on various 大象传媒 platforms and can be a stepping-stone to further opportunities. Previous Two Minute Masterpieces have been showcased and won awards at international film festivals – with Sorcha McGlinchy's animation Rawr winning a prestigious Torc award at The Celtic Media Festival.
