The Frigid Bubble by Niamh McConaghy

My horse was practically gliding across the icy path, as I was travelling through the misty forest. I had to clear my head, everyone was being absurd. This was the only way I could misplace my annoyance. The snow-covered trees caught my attention. They buried the woods; I could barely see where I was headed.

I then took a glance down at meadow's feet. Meadow: a pure black beauty. She has deep black eyes that catch everyone's attention. Her majestic charcoal hair was covered in snow, but again something was off. I didn't know what it was. Was it just me?

Meadow took an abrupt stop. In the distance I saw a glimpse of a luminous flame. At first, I thought it was just my eyes playing tricks on me but then the vivid spark returned. Approaching slowly, it began to appear clearer. THUD! The lustrous light had disappeared.

I looked up and there was what seemed to be an icy glass bubble surrounding me. It was absolutely massive. I could barely see it all. My whole body was in pure shock. I was now panicking and my body was numb but then I heard a whisper. Starting to look over my shoulder I realised who it was. OH MY GOD IT WAS MY!!!

As I opened my eyes I realised that it was just a nightmare. But that odd feeling remained. As I was opening the curtains the view outside sent a shiver down my spine. My whole village was trapped in the frigid bubble…
