‘I wish that I’d seen something like this when I was a teenager’

3 September 2018

Fashion blogger Chloe Elliott is sharing her opinion of plus-size model Tess Holliday’s appearance on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine and the impact an earlier equivalent might have had on her formative years.

“It might have stopped me picking myself apart, constantly comparing myself – torturing myself – over looking different.

“She isn’t ‘promoting obesity’. I’m so sick of hearing that argument. Is she on the front cover of that magazine saying ‘Hey guys, come and get fat with me?’ No, that’s not what she’s promoting. She’s promoting body positivity, body acceptance and just liking yourself.

“This is a huge step for body positivity and inclusivity and, personally, I can’t wait to see more.”

Front page diversity matters. Chloe tells us why.

She described it as “ground-breaking” for someone of her body shape to be given such prominence.
