Leeds: City On A Mission
‘Leeds: City On A Mission’ is a special series from ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 5 Live looking at city-wide and community-based solutions and challenges around tackling climate change.
The station spent a year following the city of Leeds, which has committed to reduce the city’s emissions to net-zero by 2030.
Net zero means reducing emissions of greenhouse gases as much as possible and then balancing out the rest by absorbing an equivalent amount from the atmosphere - with things like planting trees.
‘Leeds: City On A Mission’ looked at what a net zero economy could really mean for people's homes, work, travel, diet and leisure time as well as hearing from a live studio audience after COP 26.
