This section gives general help on the Adventure Games.

What are the Adventure Games?

The Adventure Games are a series of downloadable games for Doctor Who. These games are no longer available to download.

In the games you play as the Doctor and take part in an adventure which will require you to solve puzzles, defeat monsters and explore locations in time and space.

Each Adventure Game must be downloaded from the Doctor Who website. The Gunpowder Plot should take about 15-20 minutes to download on an average broadband connection. The previous 4 games should take about 5-10 minutes to download. Once the game is downloaded there will be an installation process to install the game on your computer.

The games have been built to be played by our Doctor Who family audience. Children as young as 8+ will be able to enjoy playing the Doctor!

What system requirements will I need to run the Adventure Games?

The Adventure Games have been designed to work on Windows PCs and Macs that are 3-4 years old. If you want to check whether your computer can play the games, you can look at the minimum system requirements. For the first four episodes you can head to the Adventure Games page where you can download the game and run an automated system check.

Are the games free?

The games are completely free for people resident in the UK.

How big is the Adventure Games download?

The size of the download for The Gunpowder Plot is about 800MB. The previous 4 Adventure Games are around 330MB in size. The size of the files may be different depending upon which Adventure Game you are downloading and whether you are on a Mac or PC.

I live outside the UK - can I play the Adventure Games?

Doctor Who fans outside the UK can purchase the Windows versions of The Gunpowder Plot, City of the Daleks, Blood of the Cybermen, TARDIS and Shadows of the Vashta Nerada from .

Will the Adventure Games run on Linux?

Currently the game is available for Windows PC and Intel Macintosh only.

You may want to try running the game under Windows emulation software but the proper functioning of the game is not guaranteed or supported.
