Each year, the world’s best mountain-bikers flock to Fort William to participate in the — one of the tour’s longest and toughest courses.

There are two disciplines of competition: the fast, gladiatorial 4X and the brutal, four-minute freefall of downhill.

Only the very bravest and best-supported have any real chance of success.
