Evidence from the scene of Samir Meshal's death
Businessman Samir Meshal of Qassim Communications has been found dead in a London apartment, believed to be an apparent suicide.
Meshal had been due to attend an lunchtime event held by the Stein Group earlier that day, but did not appear. At the lunch, during which Baroness Nessa Stein gave a hugely personal speech referencing the death of her father in the very same room 29 years previously, it was announced at the event that Meshal's company was to be awarded a lucrative contract worth millions. It is not known whether Meshal's death will affect the business deal.
Police have been gathering evidence from the scene, including what appears to be Meshal's final written words. Although fingerprints belonging to the deceased were discovered on the letter, they were not present on the envelope in which it was sealed...
