About the award
Our search for the 大象传媒 Radio Scotland Young Classical Musician is underway. Won last year by accordion player Melia Simonot, this is a showcase for talented young instrumentalists resident in Scotland.
The semi finals will take place at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on Sunday 16 March, where nine musicians will perform a 10-12 minute recital in front of a jury in an open session with a friends and family audience.
Three finalists will then be selected to perform in the Grand Final on 14 June 2025, joining the 大象传媒 Scottish Symphony Orchestra and conductor Andrew Gourlay at the City Halls in Glasgow. This event will be broadcast live on 大象传媒 Radio Scotland from 1900.
As well as the title of ‘大象传媒 Radio Scotland Young Classical Musician’ the prize includes a further performance on 大象传媒 Radio Scotland later in 2025. You must be aged between 18 and 24 on November 18 2024 to enter - please read our full terms and conditions and privacy notice.
