Welcome to Comedy Classroom for primary schools
大象传媒 Comedy Classroom provides a brilliant framework for children to explore comedy writing. Focusing on comedy writing is a perfect match for UK-wide core curriculum requirements for teaching English and helps pupils develop key literacy skills.
The 大象传媒 Comedy Classroom pack contains a series of three 60-minute teaching sequences, which include pupil-facing activities that you can launch directly on to a smartboard or print for homework and extension. The pack also contains top tips from comedians, comedy industry producers and writers to help pupils write the funniest jokes, sketches and comedy captions.
By using the resources in the pack and online, teachers will be able to support their pupils to develop important reading and writing skills which will address literacy outcomes that have been drawn from the Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculums in England, the Northern Ireland Curriculum, the Curriculum for Wales and P1-7 in the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland.
By using these resources your pupils will…
- Use relevant strategies to build their vocabulary
- Learn how to select and use appropriate registers for effective communication
- Be able to demonstrate how language structure and presentation contribute to meaning
- Identify themes and conventions in a range of texts
All the activities and resources are designed to inspire you and your class or group to have fun with writing and to motivate children of all abilities. It really is designed to be flexible. Dip in and out of the Comedy Toolbox, put on your creative hat and encourage your pupils to start tickling those funny bones!
The resources are broken down in to 3 categories

- Class Act
Parody sketch – the writer takes an idea from something we already know and turns it into a funny scene that people can perform
