History of 大象传媒 Radio Norfolk
大象传媒 Radio Norfolk was launched at 5.55pm on September 11 1980. It was the first 大象传媒 local radio station to launch in East Anglia, and its motto of being "your new neighbour" seemed to live up to its claim, as it wasn't long before the station developed a large and loyal following which it still enjoys. It was perhaps the novelty of being the first local radio station in Norfolk which captured the county's imagination, together with a group of presenters who soon became - and in many cases still are - household names. Some of the original launch team are still working at the station today. A rich vein of Norfolk humour and a strong sense of entertainment has always been part of the station's appeal. As well as "your new neighbour", the station's other mottos over the years - "the talk of the county" and "be part of it" - neatly sum up what the station is all about. The style and sound of the station has changed over the years, but Norfolk remains at the heart of all we do. John Mountford was the first voice heard on air, and other presenters still synonymous with the sation include Keith Skipper, Rob Bonnet, the late great Roy Waller and the late John Mills.
