How three generations of one family are helping tackle climate change
From cutting down on food waste to recycling school uniforms, people in Leeds are coming together to find innovative ways of reducing their carbon emissions.
Three generations from one Leeds family have found a shared love of clothes is helping them live more sustainably.
Seamstress Gloria McLaren (pictured right) came to Leeds from Jamaica when she was 19 and remembers the thick fog which greeted her when she stepped off the plane.
“It was so dark,” she said.
Sixty years later, she is playing her part in making the air cleaner by swapping clothes with her daughter, Khadijah Ibrahiim, and grand-daughter Rheima Ibrahim Robinson.
Khadijah said: “I hate waste. I hate the idea of landfills, I am very into recycling. We have a thing going on where we share clothes.
"We love each other's fashion."
Rheima, aged 29, added that people her age are embracing ways to "stop fast fashion".
