In celebration of this year’s 大象传媒 Radio 1 Big Weekend, we bring you ‘Radio 1 Big Weekend Connects: The Sessions’.

This is a series of dynamic interactive career panel sessions, hosted by Radio 1 presenter Danni Diston, where you will hear exclusive advice from industry professionals on how to make strides within your creative career - it’s all about breaking down the barriers in the creative industries!

This year our sessions feature creatives from Coventry, the UK’s city of culture for 2022 and the home of this year’s 大象传媒 Radio 1 Big weekend.

Here is a more in-depth idea of what you can learn across the series:

Day 1

Monday 16th May, 10am to 11am

This session takes a particular look at the fast-moving landscape of social media and design. Danni Diston is joined by Sarel Madziya (Actor and TikTok Creator), James Mobbs (Creative Designer) and Shantania Beckford (Fashion & Beauty Video Creator).

Day 2

Tuesday 17th May, 10am to 11am

This session explores all things acting, gaming and photography. Danni Diston is joined by trailblazers Ryan Walker-Edwards (Actor), Leslie Stowe (Technical Gaming Artist) and Veronika J (Photographer).

Day 3

Wednesday 18th May, 10am to 11am

This session spotlights the ever-changing worlds of journalism, podcasting and music.

In this session, Danni Diston is joined by Amber Sandhu (Sports Broadcaster), Taylor James (Podcaster) and John Bernard (Rapper & Poet).
