ChildLine

ChildLine is the UK’s free, 24-hour confidential helpline for children and young people who need to talk. Trained counsellors are there to provide comfort, support and advice about any problem that’s on their minds. Contact them 24 hours a day, every day, by phone on 0800 1111 or via their site. Calls are free from all existing networks – landline and mobile.

CROP: Coalition for the Removal of Pimping

CROP is a national charity dedicated to tackling sexual exploitation. It supports affected parents, and presses for multi-agency intervention and the effective use of legislation to bring perpetrators to justice. NSPCC

The NSPCC is a charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children. They operate a free 24-hour helpline that provides information, advice and counselling to adults concerned about a child’s safety. Contact them by phone on 0808 800 5000 or email help@nspcc.org.uk.

The Children's Society

The Children's Society is a children's charity committed to making childhood better for all children in the UK. We want to create a society where children can be children, childhood is respected and every child is valued for who they are. The Children’s Society has several projects providing interventions for young people who are sexually exploited. They offer preventative work, awareness raising, multi-agency partnership work, working with young people to empower them to keep them safe, and information on sexual health, self-esteem and making positive choices. Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP)

CEOP, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre is the UK’s national police agency set up to tackle child exploitation on and offline. If you are worried about someone’s behaviour towards a child online, you can report this . CEOP’s provides more detailed information for parents, teachers and young people about staying safe on the internet.

Missing People

Missing People offers a lifeline for the 250,000 people who run away and go missing each year in the UK. For those left behind, the charity provides specialised support to ease the heartache and confusion, and helps search for their missing loved ones. If you have a sighting or information about a missing person, please call 0500 700 700. If you have run away from home or care, been forced to leave home, or if you are thinking about running away, please contact the free, confidential 24 hour Runaway Helpline service on 0808 800 70 70 or text 80234. If you think someone may be looking for you and would like to pass a message home in confidence to say you are safe and well, please contact the confidential, free Message Home service on 0800 700 740 or email messagehome@missingpeople.org.uk. NAPAC: The National Association for People Abused in Childhood

The National Association for People Abused in Childhood is a charity that offers support, advice and guidance to adult survivors of any form of childhood abuse. You can contact them on 0800 085 3330, Monday to Thursday between 10.00am and 9.00pm, and on Friday between 10.00am and 6.00pm.
