What personal information we collect and how we will use it?

The 大象传媒 is the “data controller” of the personal information you provide. This means that the 大象传媒 decides how your personal data is used.

We will collect your name, age, address, e-mail address and telephone number. If you submit your entry as a recording, your voice/audio is also personal data.

The lawful basis for processing is the legitimate interests of the 大象传媒 to deliver valid and robust competitions to the 大象传媒’s audience – both for those who take part, and for those that consume content that contains competitions. This yields richer and more engaging content for all of our audiences and is not an unreasonable infringement on the rights and freedoms of the individual 大象传媒 audience members.

How long we will retain your information?

Entries received online via the 大象传媒 Uploader will be hosted internally within 大象传媒 systems. Postal entries will also be stored securely within a 大象传媒 site.

If you are one of our six shortlisted finalists, the 大象传媒 will retain your personal data for a period of two years following collection – for internal and external audit purposes consistent with industry standards. If you are not a winner, the 大象传媒 will retain your personal data until 8 January 2021. At that point your personal data will be deleted.

The names of shortlisted candidates and the winner, together with their compositions, will be published on 大象传媒 Radio 3’s website. Any personal information in broadcast content will be made available publicly through various mediums and archived in accordance with the 大象传媒’s Editorial Guidelines.
