Your Songs: Sir Elton John's hit-packed headline set - as it happened

What a day! Travis started things off by singing their evergreen single Why Does It Always Rain on Me? But there was no rain - it was a scorcher. You picnicked, you , you danced, you laughed, and then the main event - a stunning headline set by Sir Elton John, stuffed full to the brim with smash hits. Here's how it happened...

All day long you'd been getting in the mood (and so had we)

Then suddenly, it was... showtime!

He came out of the blocks with his fingers working at lightning speed...

Yes, it really was happening!

...and on the red button too (no need to apologise, Muddyboots)

We posed the question early - on song three, I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues

There's always a bit of sartorial envy when it comes to Elton's stage costumes

Okay, onto song four of the night...

By song six, well, we were in bits

And Elton was sounding just as good on the airwaves

The hits kept coming (and we weren't even halfway through the set yet)

You need to check out the double-necked guitar Davey Johnstone used during Tiny Dancer

Samuel had one word for what he was seeing...

You did the maestro proud

We were really losing it by song 11

Across the land, regret from those who couldn't make it

Second last song, and what a corker

The band finished with Crocodile Rock. No, thank you, Sir Elton!

We couldn't agree more. Incredible set!
