The startling secret your lawn doesn鈥檛 want you to know
25 July 2019
Televised golfing greens; pristine city parks; football pitches ready for the new season — perfectly cut grass is everywhere we look, inspiring us to groom our own lawns in similar fashion.
But back gardens around the country may wish to look away now. The latest experiment from Britain’s beloved and most northerly TV garden has revealed something rather shocking ...and extremely pretty.
鈥楴ever in a million years did I think we鈥檇 get results like this鈥
Brian checks what flora and fauna have appeared after ten weeks in his 鈥榥o mow鈥 lawn area.
Having thrown caution to the wind – and all those extension cables back in the shed – the team at Beechgrove allowed their lawn ten weeks of unchecked growth. Brian and team were left (genuinely) stunned.
“It’s just been amazing. Who would have thought we’d have all these wild flowers hiding in our lawns!
“We’ve got white clover, we’ve got red clover, bird’s-foot trefoil, oxeye daisies. I’ve even seen some purple vetch.”
It appears, lawns, that the game’s up, lawns. We know it ain’t easy being green, but no longer will we sit idly by and... Hang on a minute: sitting idly by is exactly what acting on this idea would mean you start doing!
