Radio 2 are pleased to announce a World Exclusive Concert honouring the First Lady of British Musical Theatre Elaine Paige in RADIO 2 CELEBRATES ELAINE PAIGE: 60 YEARS IN SHOWBUSINESS at 7:30pm on Friday 25th April at the London Palladium.

Join Radio 2's Zoe Ball for this celebratory and special show. Full of great musical moments, the concert highlights Elaine Paige’s six decades of magical music from musical theatre and beyond.

Stars of the West End and Broadway, including Samantha Barks (Frozen, Les Misérables, Oliver!, Chicago), Mazz Murray (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Chicago, We Will Rock You), Julian Ovenden (Bridgerton, Downton Abbey, South Pacific), Charlie Stemp (Half a Sixpence, Hello, Dolly, Kiss Me, Kate) and Summer Strallen (Love Never Dies, The Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls) pay tribute to Elaine – our guest of honour - as they perform some of her best loved songs from her extraordinary 60 year career. All accompanied by the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Concert Orchestra.

Radio 2 Loves Brass concert in Bradford, hosted by Zoe Ball

´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 2 Loves Brass is a season of programming celebrating all things brass music, and the centrepiece is a Radio 2 Loves Brass concert at St. George’s Hall in Bradford on Friday 11th April - as a part of the ´óÏó´«Ã½’s celebration of it being the 2025 UK City of Culture. Radio 2’s Zoe Ball will present a host of performers to kick off The Big Brass Blowout, Bradford 2025’s weekend-long festival of all things big, brassy and Bradford.

The audience will be taken on a trip from Bond themes to bhangra beats in the company of the city’s mighty Black Dyke Band, chart-topping pop legend Marti Pellow, star soprano Carly Paoli, Punjabi Roots Academy and Bradford Cathedral Choir. Alongside classics by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Wet Wet Wet, you’ll hear operatic arias and bhangra beats, powerful ballads and hymns, song settings by local lad and world famous composer Frederick Delius, plus a new commission from Peter Graham - one of today’s leading brass band writers - that celebrates Bradford’s 19th century ties with the ‘New World’ across the Atlantic. Top class brass!

´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 2 presents: VE Day 80 – A Swinging Celebration

Radio 2 is commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE Day – 8th May, 1945 - with a concert, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 2 presents: VE Day 80 – A Swinging Celebration, at the Alexandra Palace Theatre in London. The concert is taking place on Wednesday 23rd April and is presented by Vernon Kay. It will feature the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Big Band and the strings of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Concert Orchestra.

Big band classics include Flying Home, One O’Clock Jump, Skyliner, Opus One and Caravan. Guest vocalist Anna-Jane Casey explores the Doris Day and Vera Lynn songbooks including My Dreams Are Getting Better All The Time, Sentimental Journey and I’ll Be Seeing You. Also featured are Gary Wilmot leading the great British singalong with a selection of wartime favourites; singer and saxophonist Ray Gelato with Louis Jordan favourites including Five Guys Named Moe and Caldonia, plus six-piece vocal harmony group, Accent.
