Pauline Black introduces a concert from the Barbican featuring a stellar cast of 70s funk and soul musicians, representing the sounds emerging from a UK scene that took influences from the black US music pioneers and created a uniquely homespun groove.

The vocals of Linda Lewis, Carol Grimes and Madeline Bell feature alongside the rhythms of Gonzalez, the Average White Band play Pick Up The Pieces and Caribbean-Brixton funk band Cymande are together again after a break of more than 20 years.
