Leanne Wellings is a beautiful blonde mother of three, living in a busy Hertfordshire town, who seems to enjoy a picture perfect family life. It's a beautiful summer day - and she's off with her youngest two to buy a new dog from the animal shelter. But when she pulls up in a layby to get some flowers for her granddad, her life slips off the radar. She disappears, leaving little Ethan and Rosie alone in the car on the edge of the motorway.

What starts as a routine enquiry soon turns into a more serious missing persons investigation. As night falls, Leanne's husband Matt waits at home with his step-daughter Tanya. Leanne's retired parents, John and Barbara, struggle to come to terms with their daughter's disappearance.
