Peggy hopes for a good innings for Jack.
Bert's trying to determine what he should wear for his new job as a room steward in the Hall at Lower Loxley and to everyone's amusement he keeps appearing in different attire throughout the day.
Alan's back from Madrid and tells Bert that a friend on the Parochial Church Council is keen to support their efforts to update the churchyard records. Bert's pleased that Lynda is happy to take on the job.
Alistair and Sid mull over the cricket team selection. After being put through their paces by Mick Sudbury at yesterday's practice, they'll need to take account of his thoughts too. It's not going to be an easy decision.
The unveiling of the plaque at the cricket ground, naming the pavilion in Jack's honour, goes well. Imogen interviews Jack for the Borchester Echo and Peggy, as always, helps Jack through the ordeal. Sid also helps out by taking Imogen off to tell her their ambitions for the Village Cup. Peggy seizes the opportunity to take Jack home. As she proudly tells him what he's already forgotten, she's touched by Jack's excitement at the thought of his photograph being in the Echo and lovingly settles him down in bed with a gentle kiss.
