Siobhan considers a back-up plan.

Adam thinks the contractors sensed how he feels. He's promised to tell David as soon as a decision's made. It's ironic that Adam wanted to distract Brian from Debbie's daft ideas but certainly not this way - the situation with Ruairi makes Home Farm's future very unclear. Ian thinks Debbie should be told but Adam doesn't want to see her hurt again - and she might think Adam has an ulterior motive. Adam's also really concerned about Jennifer. He doesn't know how she's coping.

Brian says that Niamh's prepared to take Ruiari on, out of a sense of duty. Siobhan can't wait any longer, so wants to take up Niamh's offer. Brian can't cope with the thought, and insists on going to Ireland. When Jennifer tells him no, Brian begs her to go with him. He's sure she would grow to love Ruairi. Jennifer can't forget Brian's deceit every time he's seen Ruairi. It feels just like when he was seeing Siobhan. How can he even think of going to Ireland, when he says he loves Jennifer. Desperately, Brian tells her he loves Ruairi too. He doesn't mean to hurt Jennifer but he's going to Ireland, whether she comes or not.
