Across Britain over Bank Holiday weekend, folks try and squeeze out the last drops of holiday spirit, but there's trouble on the roads. On a beautiful vineyard in Kent, the owners watch their grapes anxiously for just the right moment to harvest this year's crop. In Blackpool it's time for the illuminations, and hotelier Bobby records a song as a tribute to his town.

At the crab-apple fair, deadly rivals face off in the gurning World Championships. The surfer looks for sharks, and a butterfly enthusiast is on the trail of the last butterflies of summer. Punch and Judy, fireworks and Last Night of the Proms fill the September evenings. As the hottest summer on record comes to an end and autumn beckons, on the Solway Firth the birds prepare to migrate to warmer climes.
