The bubble bursts for Bert.

The smoking ban's looming but Sid's still disgruntled about the cricket. A neutral customer agrees the result was unfair, and encourages Sid to investigate Netherbourne's quick bowler.

There's been some negative feedback about Bert so Elizabeth joins a tour group and realises why. Bert's tours are getting longer, and people aren't getting time to visit the shop or have lunch. Bert believes the feedback forms need changing; they don't give people the opportunity to say how much they appreciate him.

Jennifer's insulted that Bridget wants to talk to her about Ruairi's routine and insists things will be done her way. Brian's relieved when Nigel invites him for a drink. Brian tells Nigel how hard he's finding it. How can he help Ruairi when he can't even cope himself? And he still needs to tell Debbie but can't get hold of her. Nigel suggests he try now - he can always leave a message for her to call back. Brian doesn't want to be jumping every time the phone rings - he needs to be prepared. He's really just putting it off but knows he can't do that forever. He'll try again this evening. She's bound to be back by then.
