Brian faces the wrath of the family.

Robert and Lynda have their first B&B guests - the Horrocks. Lynda is determined that her guests should feel at home and be well looked after. Robert's worried that Lynda's over-zealous attention to the guests might put them off. She's already arranged an afternoon tea and plans to show Mrs Horrocks the letter she's written about her llamas, which should be published in Borsetshire Life this week.

Jennifer tells Peggy that she's hardly seen Alice, and she's still not speaking to her. Jennifer is dreading news about Ruairi getting out. Peggy reassures her that she will handle the gossip, but she must keep the lines of communication open with Alice. Peggy offers to tell Lilian and Tony about Ruairi; Jennifer's grateful. Lilian's immediately supportive but Tony's outraged at Lilian and Peggy's apparent acceptance of Brian's actions and expectations of Jennifer.

Brian's planning to go to Ireland to see Ruairi and bring back some of his things. Sad Jennifer finds a torn-up father's day card from Alice in the bin. Brian tells her he'll do whatever it takes to put things right. He can't help feeling hurt that none of his children have acknowledged father's day.
