Antonio Carluccio
Guest celebrity chefs aim to prove home-cooked food beats takeaway. Antonio Carluccio cooks penne amatriciana for a pair of Edinburgh workmates.
Italian-born Antonio Carluccio may have lived in the UK for almost three decades, but his culinary roots are firmly lodged in Italy. In this installment, Antonio heads up to Edinburgh in Scotland to demonstrate to Scott Snedden and Dave Fettes how to cook their own pasta for a change.
Ida Crolla and her family run Eatalia in the centre of Edinburgh. Renowned in the area for making great pasta and pizza, they reckon nobody can beat their food, not even Ida's hero, Carluccio.
Scott and Dave work in a busy recruitment company and they are still on the phone late at night, so it is unlikely that they will be wielding a chopping knife and rustling up a quick snack. So Antonio cooks their favourite penne amatriciana, bruschetta and mozzarella, but will the master beat the takeaway on price, speed and taste?
