Donald Macleod is joined by Professor Dolores Pesce to explore Edward MacDowell's music and his influence on American composers.

As part of its centenary celebrations, in 2007 Donald Macleod was invited to visit the MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire, USA. In today's programme he talks to Dolores Pesce, Pesce, Professor of Musicology at the Washington University in St Louis about Edward MacDowell's music and influence on later American composers and visits the writer Tom Piazza in residence at the colony.
