Imaginary encounters with the Middle Ages unite the three works in this concert. Elin Manahan Thomas tackles King Harald's Saga, a miniature grand opera in three acts for solo soprano. Weir turned to the music of 13th century France when she wrote All the Ends of the Earth for the 大象传媒 Singers in 1999, while Missa del Cid combines the Latin Mass with the bloodthirsty legend of El Cid.
