Ian Franklin runs the Comedy Club, which represents some of the best comic acts on the stand-up circuit, but Ian has a gap in his line-up and wants to fill it by finding the next Welsh comic. Assisted by top stand-up comic Rudi Lickwood and partner Nicky Clarke he goes prospecting for comic talent in Wales. Aspiring comics flock to the nationwide auditions and Ian and Rudi are inspired by the talent, but they can only choose 19 hopefuls to go through to the Open Mic semi finals.
