Tom Service presents the world premiere performance of Judith Weir's Concrete, commissioned by the ´óÏó´«Ã½ for the occasion. Taking the Barbican itself as its inspiration, this is a large-scale work for chorus, narrator and orchestra, subtitled 'a motet about London'. Also on the programme is Weir's Moon and Star and a performance of a piece by a composer who Weir cites as a big influence on her own work – Michael Finnissy.
