Catherine Bott introduces a concert to celebrate the music of Henri Dutilleux that includes his cello concerto and song-cycle Correspondances, plus works by Ravel and Debussy.

Discovering Dutilleux Festival

Presented by Catherine Bott.

The first of two concerts, given last month at St David's Hall, Cardiff, celebrating the music of Henri Dutilleux.

The programme includes his cello concerto, Tout un monde lointain, evoking Baudelaire, while the more recent song-cycle, Correspondances, incorporates texts from poems and letters by Rilke, Solzhenitsyn and Van Gogh. Also including works by Ravel and Debussy, from whom he drew inspiration.
