With Philip Dodd talking to psychotherapist George Makari about his book on Freud, a review of 大象传媒 One's The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, and a discussion on the idea of society.

Philip Dodd talks to American psychotherapist George Makari about his new book on Freud and the history of psychoanalysis. Makari argues that the current view of Freud is based on a false dichotomy and that it is better to examine his work in the light of changes in late 19th century European science and culture.

There is a review of The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, a 大象传媒 One adaptation of Alexander McCall Smith's best-selling novel, directed by the late Anthony Minghella from a screenplay by Richard Curtis and Minghella himself.

And as a touring exhibition of 'state of the nation' photographs opens in Aberystwyth, Shadow Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills David Willetts and Geoff Mulgan, Tony Blair's former Head of Policy at Downing Street, discuss our understanding of the idea that 'there is no such thing as society'.
