Petroc Trelawny presents a performance given by the CBSO in Symphony Hall, Birmingham, featuring the premiere of Simon Holt's latest percussion concerto, inspired by childhood memories of his great uncle, a one-legged taxidermist.
The programme also incorporates Russian music, with a centenary tribute to Rimsky-Korsakov as well as Rachmaninov's last orchestral work - the Symphonic Dances.
