Why are so many young people in debt?
Graham Stewart takes your calls on why bankruptcies among young people are at record levels. Plus: Should there be limits on women in some professions?
More young people are going bankrupt than ever before. Figures released today reveal the number of personal bankruptcies among under-25s is at record levels.
Is it all down to student loans and easy credit, or do young people only have themselves to blame?
Plus: Should there be limits on women in some professions?
A conference of medics will be discussing that very issue in Glasgow this morning. A few years ago, the president of the Royal College of Physicians, Dame Carol Black, said there was a danger of the profession becoming "too feminised" and that could result in the profession losing status and influence. In Scotland up to two-thirds of GPs under 34 are women and, if current trends continue, it could reach as many as 9 in 10. So do we need a gender quota in the medical profession and perhaps in other female-dominated areas such as primary school teaching?
Graham Stewart takes your calls, texts and emails.
