Rana Mitter talks to journalist John Laughland about the history of political trials. Plus photographer Susan Meiselas on Kurdistan's history and a review of Bob Dylan's paintings.

Rana Mitter talks to journalist John Laughland and human rights lawyer Geoffrey Bindman about political trials. Laughland has written a history of the subject, arguing that too often they violate law and due process, and are merely the continuation of war by another means.

Photographer Susan Meiselas discusses the new edition of her history of Kurdistan; there's a review of Bob Dylan's paintings; and historian Jonathan Fenby and poet Yang Lian celebrate the 20th anniversary of what some believe is the greatest TV series made - the Chinese epic River Elegy.
