Donington is the only UK stop-off on the MotoGP calendar and about 80,000 motorcycling fans flock to the Leicestershire circuit, with many cheering on British rider James Toseland, who has made a creditable start to his career in MotoGP this season.

Last year, Casey Stoner overcame the soggy conditions to record his fifth victory of the season and the young Australian went on to claim the overall title.
