Documentary following Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's famous motorbike journey. The guys stay at the house of a Siberian shaman woman.
Documentary showing the preparation and planning of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's famous motorbike journey. A local welder is able to mend Claudio's bike, but in doing so fries the ABS. Without brakes, Claudio's bike is out of action. The team decide to buy a replacement bike while the other is sent away to be fixed. They meet up with support crew before staying with a local family in a ger.
The next day Ewan has a bad fall in a stream. He is helped out by some locals, but they realise his bike has been damaged. They all push on and set up camp on higher ground at Charley's suggestion, but Claudio's bike breaks down once more. Luckily some locals appear out of nowhere to help him.
Meanwhile, a hundred miles away, one of the support vehicles finds the other lying on its side, the victim of an accident. Ewan and Charley decide to push on as planned, and not take the short cut through Russia. The group unite again to assess the damage and push on to Ulaan Baatar. There, they meet with the local UNICEF staff, who takes them on an underground tour of the city sewers.
The guys travel back into Russia and into the region commonly known as Siberia. They are told of a local shaman woman who has offered her lakeside house for the night. Setting out the next morning, Ewan and Charley learn of a really bad stretch of road ahead. They decide to take a train to bypass the bad roads. At their destination the locals tell them the Road of Bones is impassable due to the many ranging rivers along the way. The guys decide to push on anyway.
