The Investigation - Fiscal Fines

Ross McWilliam looks into concerns that victims of crime in Scotland are being failed by a court system that is putting cost-cutting before justice. Graham Stewart takes your calls.

Ross McWilliam examines fears that serious offences are being treated too lightly following the introduction of fiscal fines by the Scottish Government earlier this year. They were supposed to deal with 'low level' offences like vandalism and breach of the peace and to ease the pressure on the courts, but there are growing fears they're being mis-used for inappropriate offences and serious criminals are getting off lightly. Are the victims of crime being failed? Is this justice on the cheap?

Graham Stewart takes your calls, texts and emails.
