To coincide with 2008's 105th anniversary of the swing bandleader's birth, pianist Martin Litton joins Alyn Shipton to select the highlights from a number of new reissues of Earl Hines's music. Considered one of the most accomplished pianists in jazz, Hines's work has, in recent years, tended to be eclipsed by that of other swing bandleaders, although there has now been a revival in interest in it.
